Ethernet Cables

The purpose of an Ethernet cable is to connect two network devices through Ethernet. The materials needed to make an Ethernet cable are a network cable, 2RJ45 jacks, and cable pliers/cutters. To make an Ethernet cable you first cut the wire to your desired length, strip the blue tubing, untwist the colored wires, place the colors in the correct order: light orange, dark orange light green, dark blue, light blue, dark green, light brown, dark brown. Then you cut the wires to make them even, hold the clamp down with pliers, repeat steps 2-9 on the other side of the cable and then test for Internet connection. You test by putting both jacks into the testers and turn on the tester. If green lights appear, you have been successful. The first time i created an Ethernet cable it was pretty basic as long as you pay attention to the colors. You have to watch how far the wires are in the RJ45 jack and that the colors don't get mixed up and that can be frustrating. I messed that up about two times and if i were do do it any differently i would pay attention more to what i was doing. As long as you pay attention it should be a fairly easy task.
